At the 4th edition of the Foreign Trade Review, held on June 17, 2026, public and private stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to making international trade partnerships genuine drivers of industrialization, value creation, and sustainable growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that the Foreign Trade Review is an evaluation of trade cooperation between C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire and its external partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For this edition, the countries involved were: Cameroon, Egypt, the Republic of Korea, and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Opening the proceedings on behalf of the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Handicrafts, Mr. Assoua Raymond Laurent, Chief of Staff, emphasized the strength of the Ivorian economy and the strategic importance of relations with Egypt, Cameroon, the Republic of Korea, and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He notably recalled that C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire recorded economic growth of 6.5% in 2024, with inflation kept under control at 3.8%, while highlighting the essential role of international partnerships in market diversification, industrial transformation, and integration into regional and global value chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking the floor next, Mr. Tour\u00e9 Baba, Director General of Foreign Trade, presented encouraging trade results, indicating that by the end of 2025, the country’s total trade volume had reached nearly 2,500 billion CFA francs, with a trade surplus of over 1,200 billion CFA francs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also identified three major priorities to accelerate economic transformation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Export diversification;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
regional integration through the AfCFTA;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
the digitalization of trade procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Tour\u00e9 Baba also reaffirmed the national ambition to increase the local processing rate of key raw materials to over 50% by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking on behalf of the private sector, Mr. Aka St\u00e9phane, Executive Director of the CGECI (General Confederation of Enterprises of C\u00f4te d’Ivoire), commended the performance of Ivorian foreign trade while emphasizing the need to continue efforts to move upmarket, diversify exported products, and increase local added value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Citing the example of the Republic of Korea, he noted that this country had once drawn inspiration from the Ivorian model before becoming a global benchmark in industrialization, thus calling for an acceleration of the structural transformation of the national economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
