C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire<\/strong>\u00a0has signed\u00a0the 1970 UNESCO Convention <\/em><\/strong><\/a>on\u00a0the illicit Traffic in Cultural Property, <\/strong>concerning the measures to be taken to prohibit and prevent the illicit import, export and transfer of ownership of cultural property. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0This Convention calls for the establishment of Export Certificates for Cultural Property<\/strong>.
In C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Law N\u00b0<\/em><\/a>87- 806<\/em><\/a>\u00a0of 28 july 1987<\/em><\/a>\u00a0on the protection of cultural heritage, has integrated provisions in this sense, notably in Art.58 and 59 of the law.
Thus, the export of classified Movable Cultural Property is prohibited<\/strong>. However, an exceptional authorisation<\/strong> may be granted for a limited time, subject to the return<\/strong> of the object to C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire.
The export of unclassified Works of Art<\/strong> (other than Modern Art) is subject to prior authorisation<\/strong> in the form of an Export Certificate<\/strong>.\u00a0This authorisation is mandatory and is required at customs controls at all borders.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

Exports of Modern Art and Contemporary Handicrafts<\/strong> are currently subject to a prior declaration<\/strong> with the issue of an Export Autorisation <\/strong><\/a>(Indeed, at the time of writing, Law 87-806 is being revised).
The Mus\u00e9e des Civilisations de C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire <\/strong>\u2013\u00a0See.\u00a0<\/em>Order N\u00b0 2017-059\/MCF\/CAB<\/em><\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0and the Mus\u00e9e National du Costume de Grand-Bassam <\/strong>\u00a0are the two National Institutions that issue Export Authorizations for Arts and Crafts<\/strong>.
A non-exhaustive list of the objects concerned<\/strong> can be found at the end of the procedure.<\/p>

The following objects cannot receive a Museum Certificate because they are not allowed to leave the Museum\u00a0:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>
