namely the PNIA, the National Agricultural Investment Programme, which is based around 4 strategic objectives:<\/p><ul><li>Food Security and Sovereignty.<\/li><li>Sustainable Management of Cash and Export Crops.<\/li><li>Engaging the Private Sector by Reinforcing Investment.<\/li><li>Agricultural governance in terms of reforming agricultural sectors, restructuring professional agricultural organisations and implementing the law on rural land.<\/li><\/ul><p>1.OBJECTIVES OF THE NIP<\/p><p>The NIPA aims to :<\/p><ul><li>Relaunch agricultural growth at a rate of 9% per year, in particular by :<ul><li>an annual growth rate for food crops estimated at 6.8%;<\/li><li>an annual growth rate for cash crops of 7.6%;<\/li><li>an annual growth rate for animal resources of 3%;<\/li><li>a forest cover rate of 20%;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Helping to reduce poverty<\/li><li>Create 2,400,000 jobs over the 5-year implementation period of the NAIP<\/li><li>Reduce food insecurity with the aim of lifting 6 to 7 million people out of food insecurity<\/li><li>Process at least 50% of agricultural products locally.<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0To date, the National Action Plan has gone through two phases, namely National Action Plan 1 (2012 \u2013 2016), estimated at CFAF 2,040 billion, the main aim of which was to :<\/p><ul><li>investment by the State and Technical and Financial Partners (TFPs), estimated at 40%, to develop agricultural infrastructure, improve governance in the sector and finance structuring projects.<\/li><li>60% of investment from the private sector to intensify production, develop local processing of products, and<\/li><li>improve marketing channels.<\/li><\/ul><p>And PNIA 2, the second National Agricultural Investment Programme covering the period 2018-2025, with an estimated total cost of 11,905 billion CFA francs.<br \/>\u00a0This programme, which is a logical continuation of PNIA 1 (2012-2016), covers several sub-sectors including livestock farming, fishing, aquaculture, environmental management and rural development. <br \/>NAIP 2 responds to the need for synergy of actions and results between the various activities, and the main innovation of this second phase 2 of the NAIP lies in the establishment of nine (9) agropoles that will cover the entire national territory.<br \/>\u00a0Among other things, this will help to improve agricultural
