In this capacity, and in liaison with the various ministerial departments concerned, he is responsible for the following actions:<\/p><p>1. Sustainable management of forests, fauna and flora<\/p><ul><li>Promoting sustainable use of forest resources.<\/li><li>Definition and implementation of the national reforestation plan.<\/li><li>To encourage the development of the forest estate by public authorities and private operators.<\/li><li>Logging control.<\/li><li>Monitoring the training and marketing of timber products in liaison with the Minister for the Economy and Finance.<\/li><li>Management of hunting resources.<\/li><li>Implementation of national policies relating to the sustainable management of wildlife and its rational use in liaison with the Minister for the Environment.<\/li><\/ul><p>2. Sustainable management and protection of water resources<\/p><ul><li>Implementation of the Water Code with the Minister for Economic Infrastructures, the Environment, Agriculture, Health and Animal and Fisheries Resources.<\/li><\/ul><p>3. Protection of flora and fauna<\/p><ul><li>Maintaining the integrity of the State\u2019s forest estate.<\/li><li>Fighting bush fires and defending forests in conjunction with the Ministries of Defence and Agriculture.<\/li><li>Implementation of conventions and treaties on the protection of flora and fauna.<\/li><li>Soil and water protection in conjunction with the Ministries of Agriculture and Animal and Fisheries Resources.<\/li><\/ul><p>4.
