The Ivorian government intends to step up its efforts to accelerate the development of industrial zones and increase the industrial sector\u2019s contribution to the national economy. As part of this effort, the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts, Kalil Konat\u00e9, paid a working visit on Thursday, March 5, 2026, to the headquarters of SOGEDI in Abidjan Cocody II-Plateaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During this meeting with officials from the agency responsible for the development of industrial zones in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, the minister reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to supporting industrialization projects. He noted that certain constraints, particularly financial ones, have been lifted thanks to a recent decree aimed at facilitating the implementation of these projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The minister also reiterated that industrialization is a priority of the 2026\u20132030 National Development Plan (PND), which aims to increase industry\u2019s share of gross domestic product from 22.7% to 30%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minister also announced that four programs, covering approximately 1,450 hectares and representing an estimated investment of 370 billion CFA francs, are already complete. Teams from his ministry will support SOGEDI in implementing these projects to accelerate the provision of modern industrial sites to economic operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alongside Hien Philippe, Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO Diomand\u00e9 Mamadou welcomed the minister\u2019s visit and reaffirmed his institution\u2019s commitment to supporting the country\u2019s industrial transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe have been working for several years to develop key infrastructure projects, particularly industrial zones in Abidjan, San Pedro, and Bouak\u00e9,\u201d he said, assuring that the company is continuing its efforts to improve the supply of industrial land for the benefit of economic operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
