As part of the DAICE Program, the Directorate General of Industry (DGIn) is organizing a capacity-building workshop for sworn inspectors responsible for the official control of products subject to mandatory standards, to be held from May 18 to 22, 2026, at the Capitole Hotel in Cocody-Riviera, Abidjan. This initiative aims to strengthen the national quality monitoring system and ensure better consumer protection in the Ivorian market.

The opening ceremony featured a welcome address by Ms. AZODA DELI Berthe, Director of Quality Promotion and Standardization. The DAICE Program was then presented by Dr. Faé Adrien, Program Coordinator, before the opening address by Mr. Tra Bi Emmanuel, Director General of Industry, who emphasized the strategic importance of official control in promoting products that comply with current regulatory and normative requirements.

During this session, participants received training on the legislative and regulatory framework governing product quality monitoring, the ISO 17020 standard, official inspection and control procedures, and the responsibilities associated with their role as sworn agents.

The workshop also covered the procedures for issuing certificates of conformity and the legal and technical requirements applicable to official control. Through this workshop, the Directorate General of Industry reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the quality of products available to consumers and promoting an industrial environment that meets national and international standards.
