Abidjan, May 22, 2026 – In the government’s message regarding World Metrology Day, celebrated annually on May 20, the Minister of Trade, Industry, and Handicrafts, Ibrahim Kalil Konaté, called on all public and private stakeholders to further promote a culture of fair, reliable, and transparent measurement.

He also encouraged professionals in the sector to pursue their mission with rigor, professionalism, and integrity.

“Metrology is an invisible but essential infrastructure.” It supports the competitiveness of our economy, protects consumers, fosters innovation, and strengthens trust between the government, businesses, and citizens. “It is together, with trust and precision, that we will build a modern, competitive, and prosperous Côte d’Ivoire,” the minister stated.

The theme for this year’s celebration of World Metrology Day 2026 is “Metrology to Build Confidence in Public Policymaking.”

It should be noted that metrology, the science of measurement, guarantees the accuracy of measurements, strengthens trust in trade, and supports public policies based on reliable data.
