Côte d’Ivoire has reached a new milestone in its economic transformation. According to the African Industrialization Index 2025 (AFI 2025) published by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the country has now joined the Top 10 most industrialized nations on the African continent, ranking 10th with a score of 0.6173.

This performance reflects the steady progress made in the local processing of raw materials, the development of the agribusiness, energy, and extractive industries sectors, as well as the strengthening of productive infrastructure. It also reflects the results of reforms and investments undertaken to promote industrialization and the diversification of the national economy.

As the leading economy in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU), Côte d’Ivoire is consolidating its position among the sub-region’s major industrial hubs. This momentum is helping to strengthen the country’s competitiveness, increase local value creation, and foster the generation of sustainable jobs.

According to the 2025 African Industrialization Index, the ten most industrialized countries on the continent are:

At the continental level, Morocco has topped the rankings for the first time, ahead of South Africa. In West Africa, Côte d’Ivoire stands out as one of the continent’s most successful industrial economies, surpassing several major regional economies. This remarkable progress illustrates the rise of the Ivorian industrial fabric and reinforces the national ambition to make Côte d’Ivoire a leading industrial hub in Africa, serving inclusive, sustainable growth and creating opportunities for all.
