The Minister of Trade, Industry, and Handicrafts, Mr. Ibrahim Kalil Konaté, received Mr. Christophe Cizeron, Chairman and CEO of the GL events group, the exclusive manager and operator of the Abidjan Exhibition Center, in his office on Thursday, January 29, 2025.
This meeting was part of efforts to strengthen cooperation between the Ivorian government and the GL events group to ensure more efficient and sustainable management of this strategic infrastructure. The CEO of GL events, accompanied by the Director General of the Abidjan Exhibition Center, Mr. Valéry Gissat, met with the Minister to discuss the management, profitability, and optimization strategy for the site’s operation, with the aim of making it a true catalyst for economic growth and attractiveness, both nationally and internationally.
On this occasion, Minister Ibrahim Kalil Konaté commended the GL events group’s ongoing commitment and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to accelerating the strategic positioning and profitability of the Abidjan Exhibition Center. He also urged the group to pay particular attention to the infrastructure built for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in the various host cities, with a view to maximizing their economic value and ensuring their consistent operation at the national level.
This momentum is fully aligned with the vision of the Ivorian government, which aims to make Côte d’Ivoire a leading continental and international hub for economic, cultural, and commercial exchange.
In Côte d’Ivoire, the GL events group is tasked with managing and developing the Abidjan Exhibition Center, with the objective of raising it to the highest international standards and establishing it as a center of excellence for the events industry.
