As part of its consumer protection and monitoring missions, the Rapid Control Brigade (BCR) conducted an operation in Marcory Anoumabo on Monday, May 11, 2026, which put an end to illegal gas transfer activities.

This operation, carried out in collaboration with the Directorate of Metrology and Quality Control and with the support of the 26th Arrondissement Police Station, resulted in the seizure of more than 300 gas cylinders, as well as various accessories used for this clandestine activity.

This operation is part of the ongoing effort to strengthen surveillance of the national market and combat irregular practices that endanger public safety. Indeed, the illegal transfer of gas constitutes a real threat, capable of causing fires, explosions, and significant material and human damage.

To this end, the authorities are urging the public to be vigilant and to systematically report any suspicious activity.

Furthermore, any case of illegal transfer can be reported via 1343, a freephone number available 24/7, in order to contribute to public safety and the improvement of the sector.

Through this action, the Central Bank of Recycling (BCR) reaffirms its commitment to continuing its monitoring operations throughout the country, in collaboration with the relevant agencies, to ensure a safer business environment that complies with current regulations.
