The Ivorian government intends to step up its efforts to accelerate the development of industrial zones and increase the industrial sector’s contribution to the national economy. As part of this effort, the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts, Kalil Konaté, paid a working visit on Thursday, March 5, 2026, to the headquarters of SOGEDI in Abidjan Cocody II-Plateaux.
During this meeting with officials from the agency responsible for the development of industrial zones in Côte d’Ivoire, the minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting industrialization projects. He noted that certain constraints, particularly financial ones, have been lifted thanks to a recent decree aimed at facilitating the implementation of these projects.
The minister also reiterated that industrialization is a priority of the 2026–2030 National Development Plan (PND), which aims to increase industry’s share of gross domestic product from 22.7% to 30%.
“Côte d’Ivoire is a very attractive destination for investors. In the coming months, you will see our industrial sector shine even brighter,” Kalil Konaté assured.
The minister also announced that four programs, covering approximately 1,450 hectares and representing an estimated investment of 370 billion CFA francs, are already complete. Teams from his ministry will support SOGEDI in implementing these projects to accelerate the provision of modern industrial sites to economic operators.
Alongside Hien Philippe, Chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO Diomandé Mamadou welcomed the minister’s visit and reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to supporting the country’s industrial transformation.
“We have been working for several years to develop key infrastructure projects, particularly industrial zones in Abidjan, San Pedro, and Bouaké,” he said, assuring that the company is continuing its efforts to improve the supply of industrial land for the benefit of economic operators.
This visit is part of the ongoing effort to strengthen industrialization in Côte d’Ivoire.
